OBD CODE P1600 & P0441
The ECM Batt malfunction code & Evaporative emission System Malfunction code.
The details for this code is as follows:---
The P1600 code means Battery voltage is supplied to terminal BATT of the ECM even when the ignition switch is OFF for use by the DTC memory and air-fuel ratio adaptive control value memory, etc. This is done by way of the black wire with a yellow tracer going into connector E 11 and 14 at the engine control computer. This power feed comes directly from the EFI number one fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. Make sure that fuse has 12 V across it. If the fuses good then there has to be a break in the wire or loose pin fit somewhere at one of the three connectors involved.
The P0441 code means that the evaporative emission control system did not purge correctly or the purge flow was interrupted. This can be anything from a bad vacuum switching valve at the engine or something in the charcoal canister. The purge valve is a duty cycle valve near the intake manifold that cycles on to bring the hydrocarbons out of the charcoal canister and burn them in the intake manifold. If you do not require emissions testing and can drive with CHECK ENGINE light then this will not affect the performance of the engine.
