I installed a sub woofer and amp to the factory Delco radio/cd player IN 2001 S-10 Chevy Blazer. Everything is working fine, EXCEPT the lights on the radio/cd player DO NOT work if the key is turned one notch forward to the ON position, or if YOU start the engine.
However,the lights on the radio/cd player DO work if YOU turn the key backwards to the ACC position.
Please check this wires connection.
It was factory radio, we unplug the wiring harness in the back and splice into the speaker wires. Then we simply plugged the harness back in to the radio. I'm assuming we did that correctly because the system itself sounds great, just no lights on that radio when key is in forward on position.
Try moving the dash dimmer up and see if this makes a difference. Automatic headlights may be coming on which dims the display. Just plug the harness to the head lights back into the headlights switch on the dash.
