1996 fiat bravo speedometer not working?

The speedo cable which drives the speedo is broken, or loose at either end of it. Or the gears inside the speedo head are faulty.
Getting this possibilities checked are advisable.

The speedometer is controlled by sensor called VSS.If that sensor is faulty or shorted,then also same problem will be noticed.
