Very common issue noticed by many BMW car users.
The first thing I would try doing is initialized the key,This is done by turning the ignition on to postion two then back to 0 Pull the key out and press the unlock button at the same time press the lock button three times,the doors should lock then unlock..
At the dealer you can use the G.T.1 machine to activate the door locks.
If you have not tried it then reset the key and try it.But if you have already tried it,then you will have to open the trunk manually.
To open the trunk manually,there is a procedure.
I suggest you follow this procedure.
