Many other ford f-150 users noticed this problems too.
In this problem,the transfer case engages but not the front wheels.
First thing to do is look at vacuum hoses, check for cracked or disconnected or damaged hoses, next step will be to scan the vehicle for codes.if vacuum hoses are ok and you have scanned the vehicle.
follow vacuum hose from front axle -it will lead you to the solenoid.
Also try connecting the two vac lines together on the solinoid on the right side of the firewall,see if that helps.
