Engine accelerates when brake is applied?

The most likely cause is the vacuum brake booster is failed. When you push on the brake pedal the brake booster will leak air past the diaphragm to the engine. The extra air raises the engine RPMs causing the vehicle to accelerate.

The Brake booster is between the Master Cylinder and Firewall.
