how do you change the oil on a honda shadow 600 vlx ?

The procedure is as follows:---

-warm the engine a bit to better drain the oil.
-remove the engine drain plug on the bottom left of the engine. Remove the spin-on oil filter to the rear of the drain plug.
-remove the oil dipstick to help the oil drain easier.
-replace the drain plug gasket and tighten drain plug 20-22 ft lbs.
-oil the new filter gasket before replacing the filter.
-Hand tighten only.
-add 2 quarts of 10W40 motorcycle oil.
-run the bike briefly and recheck the oil level on dipstick with the bike level. It should take another half quart
or so to be full. Check for leaks, that's it.
