Gear shift control knob removal procedure

Here are a couple of procedures that should get the job done.

Removal Procedure is as follows :-----

      Loosen the set screw.

      Pull up to remove the knob from the transmission control.
      See the image shown below:----

Installation Procedure is reverse of removal:----



  1. Install the knob onto the transmission control.

    Notice

    To make the replacement successful,Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
     Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. 
    Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    KNOB TIGTENING SPECS:---
  2. Tighten control knob set screw. Tighten
    Tighten the control knob set screw to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
