you have to take the entire door skin off,arm rest, switches, etc.remember how you took everything apart so as put everything back again the handle has basically to bolts holding it in place one outer side of door edge, above the Vin number, sticker on the door, the other you will see when you take apart the door it will be exposed, you'll have to physically look inside the door at the handle itself, take it out and the handle practically off, using medium sized flat head screw driver, pry the pin that connects the from the door(i forget what this things is called, the part that latches or actually grabs onto the door striker)to the handle base, theres another one you may or may not be able to see at first but as you start to remove the handle from the door it will become looser and you should see it from under the handel outer door, pry it loose

Lift the door panel up until the top of it clears the window channel and then remove it from the door by hand.Locate the Silverado's door lock actuator by following the door latch rod from the latch to the actuator. Grab the wiring connector where it plugs into the actuator and unplug it.Remove the hex head screw that holds the actuator to the Silverado's door using the socket set. Turn the actuator to remove the latch rod end from the hole in the actuator plunger. Take the actuator out of the door.Hook the new actuator to the latch rod by hand. Bolt the actuator to the Silverado's door with the socket set. Plug the wiring into the actuator by hand.Reinstall the Silverado's door panel by reversing your removal method.
