Removal & InstallationPrint
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the cooling system into a clean container for reuse.
- Remove or disconnect the following:Heater hoses from the heater coreRight sound insulatorAll necessary electrical connectors and remove the instrument panel compartmentTemperature valve actuatorElectrical connector and remove the HVAC programmerHeater core cover-to-heater assembly screws and the coverHeater core-to-heater assembly screws and the heater core
To install:
- Install or connect the following:Heater core and the heater core-to-heater assembly screws, then, tighten the screws to 12 inch lbs. (1.4 Nm)Heater core cover and the cover-to-heater assembly screws, then, tighten the screws to 12 inch lbs. (1.4 Nm)HVAC programmer and connect the electrical connectorTemperature valve actuatorInstrument panel compartment and connect any necessary electrical connectorsRight sound insulatorHeater hoses to the heater core
- Refill the cooling system.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Operate the engine to normal operating temperatures; then, check the climate control operation and check for leaks.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the cooling system into a clean container for reuse.
- Remove or disconnect the following:Heater hoses from the heater coreCenter console assemblyAuxiliary air distribution ductHeater core heat shield cover from the HVAC moduleAir filter access cover and the heater core cover screwsHeater core cover to obtain access to remove the heater coreHeater core retaining bolts and strapsHeater core
To install:
- Install or connect the following:Heater coreHeater core straps and retaining bolts, then, tighten to 18 inch lbs. (1.5 Nm)Heater core coverAir filter access cover and the heater core cover screws, then tighten to 12 inch lbs. (1.4 Nm)Heater core heat shield cover to the HVAC moduleAuxiliary air distribution ductCenter console assemblyHeater hoses to the heater core
- Refill the cooling system.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Operate the engine to normal operating temperatures; then, check the climate control operation and check for leaks.
