How to install a water pump on a 2001 toyota camry?

The purpose of the Toyota Camry's water pump is to help push coolant throughout the engine of the vehicle. When the water pump goes bad the coolant will not reach the engine and the engine will overheat.Disconnect the vehicle's battery. Use a wrench to help remove the negative battery cable from the appropriate terminal on the battery itself. This is a safety measure that will ensure you are safe from electrocution while working on the vehicle.Put a large bucket, pan, or other type of container beneath the radiator pan. Open up the drain and allow all of the coolant to drain out into your container. Move the container under the engine block drain and drain all of the fluid there also.Take off the front right wheel. You will also need to remove the coolant overflow tank. This will give you access to the timing belts which you also need to take off.Use a wrench to remove the 1 and 2 idler pulleys. Take a flare-nut wrench and use it to remove the bolts securing the alternator adjusting bar.
  • Use a wrench to remove the bolts holding the water pump to the engine. Remove the old water pump.
  • Place a brand new gasket against the engine of the Camry. Install the new water pump over the new gasket. Use the wrench to secure the water pump in place. Replace the timing belts and other parts of the engine you needed to remove.
  • Fill the radiator back up with coolant. You will need to both antifreeze and water. Reconnect your car's battery.
The procedure is as follows:----
