Lift lid - two screws right under front of lid.
In bottom of console - two screws there.
Remove radio/heater control bezel and remove screws holding radio and heater controls.
The radio and heater controls can twist sideways when the time comes, and stay in the car without disconnecting their wires.
Remove shifter knob - if auto there's a "staple" in the front of the knob - turn key on, shift to 1, and pry out staple with screwdriver.
Lift Ebrake handle, remove phillps screw in the side of it. Pull Ebrake up as far as you can with both hands.
Now the "top" of the console will come off - open the console lid to get it started, then close the lid as you lift the rear of it so that the lid spring can come free. - Gently lift rear of the top, and work it towards rear seat over the shifter knob and Ebrake. You'll have to disconnect the trunk release wires and electric window switch wires as you go, as well as the twist-in light for the shifter(if auto).
Now, inside the console bottom there will be a 10mm screw that runs from front to rear and goes through an S-shaped bracket - remove that.
Now, the bottom of the console can be worked out, toward rear seats and gently, like the top - there are plastic vents that connect to the vent holes on the console that you'll need to wiggle away.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

CAUTION
The 1991-92 vehicles are equipped with an Air Bag system. Proper disarming of the system is necessary before proceeding with any disassembly or repairs to the steering column, dash or electrical system or possible deployment of the air bag might occur.
- Properly disable the SIR air bag system, if equipped. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the center console.
- Remove the screws attaching the instrument panel pad to the instrument panel.
- Remove the daytime running light sensor electrical connector, if equipped.
- Remove the instrument panel pad.
- Remove the instrument panel sound insulators.
- Remove the knee bolster and bracket.
- Remove the instrument panel cluster.
- Remove the steering column retaining nuts and lower the column.
- Remove the upper and lower instrument panel to cowl screws.
- Disconnect and remove the electrical harness at the cowl connector and under dash panel.
- Remove the instrument panel assembly.
- Install the instrument panel assembly.
- Install the electrical harness at the cowl connector and under dash panel.
- Install the upper and lower instrument panel to cowl screws.
- Install the steering column retaining nuts.
- Install the instrument panel cluster.
- Install the knee bolster and bracket.
- Install the instrument panel sound insulators.
- Install the instrument panel pad.
- Install the daytime running light sensor electrical connector, if equipped.
- Install the screws attaching the instrument panel pad to the instrument panel.
- Install the center console.
- Properly arm the SIR air bag system, if equipped. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
