Tank Assembly
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1986-1989 Integra
- Raise and safely support the vehicle and remove the rear wheels.
- Remove the tank drain bolt and drain the fuel into an approved container.
- Remove the fuel pump cover and disconnect the wiring for the gauge sending unit.
- When disconnecting the hoses, twist and pull at the same time to work the hose off the tube.
- Support the tank with a floor jack, remove the straps and lower the tank out of the vehicle. If it sticks on the undercoating, carefully pry it free.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Use a new sealing washer on the drain plug and torque to 36 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
- Raise and safely support the vehicle and remove the rear wheels.
- Remove the tank drain bolt and drain the fuel into an approved container.
- Remove the rear seat and access panel and disconnect the gauge and pump wiring.
- Remove the fuel hose protector and the 2-way valve. When disconnecting the hoses, twist and pull at the same time to work the hose off the tube.
- Support the tank with a floor jack, remove the straps and lower the tank out of the vehicle. If it sticks on the undercoating, carefully pry it free.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Use a new sealing washer on the drain plug and torque to 36 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).

- On Sterling and 1989-90 Legend, remove the access panel from the floor of the trunk and disconnect the pump and gauge wiring.
- On 1991-93 Legend, remove the rear seat and the access panel and disconnect the pump and gauge wiring.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle and remove the rear wheels.
- Remove the tank drain bolt and drain the fuel into an approved container.
- Remove the fuel hose protector on 1991-93 models. When disconnecting the hoses, twist and pull at the same time to work the hose off the tube.
- Support the tank with a floor jack, remove the straps and lower the tank out of the vehicle. If it sticks on the undercoating, carefully pry it free.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Use a new sealing washer on the drain plug and torque to 36 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
