The procedure is as follows:---
relearn procedure MUST be done with a diagnostic scanner:
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the air deflector.
- Remove the oil filter adaptor.
- Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the crankshaft sensor retaining bolt.
- Remove the crankshaft sensor.
To install:
NOTE Inspect the crankshaft sensor O-ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the O-ring.
- Lubricate the crankshaft sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.
NOTE Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. - Install the crankshaft sensor and the retaining bolt. Tighten the retaining bolt between 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
- Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
- Install the oil filter adaptor.
- Install the air deflector.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Operate the engine and inspect crankshaft sensor for engine oil leaks.
- Perform the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure.
Crankshaft position (CKP) sensors activity--If there is a CKP sensor condition, refer to the applicable DTC that set. Camshaft position (CMP) sensor activity--If there is a CMP sensor condition, refer to the applicable DTC that set. Engine coolant temperature (ECT)--If the engine coolant temperature is not warm enough, idle the engine until the engine coolant temperature reaches the correct temperature.
NOTE While the learn procedure is in progress, release the throttle immediately when the engine starts to decelerate. The engine control is returned to the operator and the engine responds to throttle position after the learn procedure is complete.
