Removal & Installation

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
4. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
   
   Negative battery cable

   Engine appearance cover

   Air intake tube

   Intake manifold

   Starter motor mounting bolts

   Starter wiring connectors

   Starter motor

To install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   
   
   Starter motor

   Starter wiring connectors. Tighten the cable nut to 86 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

   Starter motor mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).

   Intake manifold

   Air intake tube

   Engine appearance cover

   Negative battery cable
   
   
2. Fill the cooling system.
3. Start the engine and check for leaks.
