Vacuum reservoir diagram for 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 5.2 L

Either replacing the vacuum reservoir or attaching the valve.First you can try attaching the valve and see if that helps, if not then you have to get the vacuum reservoir replaced.

Most people over in the Dodge forum agree that the solution is just to install a check-valve in one of the vacuum lines or just to the right of the T show in those diagrams and that has solved the problem for most people on the forum.
Click this link below to see the diagram for how to attach the valve :----
Its same for 1998 model too, so dont get confused:----

Following are vacuum diagrams for most of the engine and emissions package combinations covered by this guide. Because vacuum circuits will vary based on various engine and vehicle options, always refer first to the vehicle emission control information label, if present. Should the label be missing, or should the vehicle be equipped with a different engine from the vehicle's original equipment, refer to the diagrams below for the same or similar configuration.

If you wish to obtain a replacement emissions label, most manufacturers make the labels available for purchase.

The labels can usually be ordered from a local dealer.
