This is damper :--
as you can see it almost as a spring type system and it opens and closes automatically, it may need to be replaced if it's not opening, you can if need be until you can get a new one take the little spring off that pulls the door down or the flap down but you don't want to fall open or you will freeze stuff in your refrigerator, you can order this
