This 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier has two tail light lens assemblies... one in the trunk lid and one in the rear side panel. |  |

 | First I removed the bulb socket from the back up lens on trunk lid. I was able to reach inside with my thumb and press in the lock tab (green arrow) and twist the bulb socket counter clock-wise to remove it. |

 | To remove the turn signal bulb and lens located in the rear panel, I had to remove the cargo net that was mounted to the side panel. |

Then I unscrewed the cargo net tie-down by hand. |  |

To remove the bulb socket, I reached in with my hand, pressed the lock tab inwards (red arrow) and turned the socket counter-clock wise. |  |

 | Then the bulb could be removed from the tail light lens, which the wire was still attached. To replace the #3157 bulb, I pulled it straight out of the socket. |

If I had to remove the tail light housing (lens) I would remove the three 10mm nut (green arrows). |  |
