2003 Pontiac Grand Prix: Erratic Fuel Gauge?

The Fuel gauge goes crazy and fluctuates up/down.Gauge goes erratic.

In this case first see the fuel in the tank.If the fuel level is low, then get the fuel filled at nearest gas station.

But if the GAS Tank is already full and you notice this frustrating problem then,
This is the same common problem for GM vehicles.Which many other GM car users are also noticing.
As per that it sounds very much like the Fuel Level Sensor is going to be the culprit.
For your car model the fuel level sensor is located inside the fuel tank.
The sensor is mounted to the side of the Fuel Pump Assembly. To replace this sensor, there is an access door located in the trunk, under the spare tire.
Instead of replacing the sensor directly carefully inspect the electrical connector and harness going to the top of the fuel pump assembly for any loose, broken or damaged wires. If the visual inspection checks ok, suspect a faulty Level Sensor. It has to be replaced.
See the help diagram shown below for parts location :-----

Pontiac fuel assembly parts

Please buy branded parts. They are costly but they give accurate performance and last long.Non-branded parts are cheap considered to branded original parts but many a times this local parts dont get detected, and you carry on replacing some other working parts. And at last one problem, gets to multiple issues.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2005 Dodge Durango: Replace Camshaft position sensor and Crankshaft Position Sensor?

How to replace Camshaft Position sensor on Dodge Durango.
And how to replace Crankshaft position Sensor on Dodge Durango.

The Procedure to replace both Sensors with details and helpful diagram is as follows:---------

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 5.7L V-8 engine is located below the
generator on the timing chain / case cover on the right/front side of
engine.

Well, there is enough room to get to the sensor without removing the Alternator, however, sometimes the sensor is a little tough to remove due to time, build-up, etc taking its toll on the rubber o-ring. So, to get better leverage, and a better grip on the sensor to remove it, you may need to remove the Alternator.

See the diagram shown below:-------
camshaft sensor

Crankshaft sensor is a straight shot. best access is from under the vehicle working upwards. Same deal with the rubber o-ring, though. It sometimes can be a little tough to remove. With both sensors, when installing the new sensor, lube the new o-ring a little bit for easier installation.

The Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor is mounted into the right rear side
of the cylinder block. It is positioned and bolted into a machined hole. Best access is from under the vehicle, working upwards.

See the help diagram shown below:----------

This details will help.
Thanks.

OBD Code P0440 and P0441 on Chrysler?

In ECM scan test, you receive Error codes stored in Vehicles computer module.

In case of  P0440 and P0441 OBD error codes.
This both P-codes are are directly related.
The P0440 is "General EVAP System Failure" and the P0441 narrows down that "general" failure to a problem in the EVAP Purge System.

In this case ........
There are a couple of things that can set a P0441.

  • First is the EVAP Purge Solenoid.
To troubleshoot this problem.Carefully inspect the vacuum lines to the solenoid for any cracks, holes or loose/missing connections. If the visual inspection checks ok, test the solenoid for functionality. If the Purge Solenoid checks ok, the Leak Detection pump will need to be inspected.

Again, check for any visual defects with the vacuum lines and test the pump for functionality.

Also view this help diagram shown below for appropriate part location to do inspecting and testing.

2006 Hyundai Tiburon V6: OBD Code P0449?

Error code P0449 Retrieved in OIBD scan test.

The error code indicates issue with Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/Soleniod Circuit Malfunction.

The P0449 is a fairly straight forward code pointing to a fault in the EVAP Canister Closing Valve. This valve is located under the vehicle, towards the rear, mounted to the side of the EVAP Canister. Inspect the vacuum lines for any cracks, holes or loose/missing connections. If the visual inspection checks ok, suspect a faulty CCV.

See the help diagram shown below:-----
