2003 Chrysler Voyager Starting Issues

Chrysler Takes Time To start

Chrysler quits While Driving

2003 Chrysler Voyager 3.3L V6 OHV. Takes several turns to start. Will Quit while driving. Seems to be stuck in 3rd. Will start after several attempts once I hear the Fuel pump turn on. If I replace relays or switch relays around it usually starts.

Troubleshooting:

It Can Be The Issue With Power Distribution Center (PDC):

If the act of moving relays around has a definite effect on the problem then it's likely your problem is internal in the power distribution center.

Moisture And corrosion Issue:

There have been some problems with internal corrosion caused by moisture over time. Corrosion on the circuit boards inside will cause voltage drop or open circuits between fuses, relays, the front control module, and the connectors underneath.

Issue With ASD Relay And Fuel Pump Relay:

If power feeds for the ASD or fuel pump relay were going down or connection problems were happening between the relays, PCM, or connectors underneath then that would explain it not starting and the fact that the fuel pump doesn't run but it starts when the pump does come on.

Gear Stuck-up Issue:

The trans is also supplied battery voltage through a relay in the power distribution center, if it loses power from the relay then it will stay in second gear.

On Many Vehicles Such problem Occurs when It rains Heavily. The Electrical Components In the engine And Gear Box Get Wet and Such problem Is noticed.

Car Not Starting After Floods?

Try wetting down the wiring harness under the power distribution center (PDC) and see if the problem happens. If not, then wet the PDC and see if it then acts up. If it does act up when you wet it down then replace the PDC.

What Is ASD Relay?

ASD is the relay that powers the injectors and ignition coil. It's in the power distribution center among all the others.

Jeep Grand Cherokee:Passenger side "power windows" not working

Passenger side window,Passenger side door lock and rear door will not operate.

Passenger window wont roll up

Vehicle Details:

Country: United States
Make (manufacturer): Jeep
Model: Grand Cherokee
Year: 2004
Engine (optional): V-8

More Details About the problem:

All driverside windows and door locks operate properly, but passenger side Doors won't open and lock from the keyless entry fob either.

TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM FOLLOW THE DETAILS MENTIONED BELOW:

Car power window will not go up can be the issue with power window switch, window motor, window regulator, etc.

But for this case

These problems are all happening because the passenger door module is not awake.

Where is Door Module Located?

The passenger door module is located in the right front door and controls window and lock operation on the right side. It's also the receiver for the keyless entry, so that's why it's not working right now either.

Fuse is located  in the under hood fuse box supplies power to the door modules/switches. This is a 50 amp cartridge syle fuse. Here is a diagram of the circuit.

power window fuse
Any other possibility other then door module:

Most probably its door module itself but it's much more likely to be wiring. The wires at the joints and towards the connector get loose or broken in between, sometimes forms cracks and that causes the problem.

Suggestions on how to inspect and where to inspect the wiring:

When you open the door you'll see a black rubber boot that runs between the body and the door. This is where the wiring harness runs from the main harness to the door. Each time you open and close the door this wiring flexes and it can eventually break. If a power or ground feed to the door module breaks then it causes what you are having, and it's not an uncommon problem on the Grand Cherokee.

From Where To Start Troubleshooting:

To start tracing the fault i suggest to pop this boot open and inspect the wiring, you should find at least one wire is broken. There is a larger gauge black ground wire and a larger orange power feed wire that are the most common to break and the most suspect. If you don't see a break in the area you have the boot open find these two wires and give them a good tug, they may be broken in an area you can't see and pulling on them will help you find it if that's the case.

slide the rubber boot back and forth to find the actual wire damage.
rubber boot

What If See A Loose Or Cracked/Broken Wiring?

If you do find a break then splice in a little added wire, solder and heat shrink the connections and your windows and locks will be back to normal.

you will be able to see the broken ground wire:
passenger side power window wiring connector

But If All wires Look Good And Intact Then?

If you don't find a break then the next step would be to remove the door panel and check the power and ground right at the door module. If the powers and grounds are ok then it would need to be replaced, but that's probably not the case. At least 99% of the time this is simply a broken wire.As per my auto garage repair experience.

BUT MOSTLY:

This is a relatively common problem on these Jeeps. You most likely have a broken wire in the harness between your door and body.
Open the door and pull back the rubber boot that surrounds the harness. Tug on each of the wires to see if any are loose that you can pull out. It will most likely be the black (ground) wire. Just reconnect the broken wire(s) and you should be good to go.

If all of the wires are ok, then start checking for power and ground at the master switch.

This details will help.
thanks.

2006 Chrysler 300: Door ajar light is ON

FRONT DOOR DOOR AJAR LIGHT ISSUES:

The door ajar switches are integral to the front door latches. Its very common and very famous problem, noticed by many others too.
FIRST UNDERSTAND

WHY DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON?

The ajar switch signal goes to the instrument cluster which also serves as the body control module. When the ajar switches close it applies ground to the circuit, the cluster sees this and turns on the interior lamps and the door ajar warning.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO SEE AND CHECK?

Inspect the front doors, are they closing properly or there seems to be difficulty to close the doors.Or there is any kind of blockage to the door area.
If your doors are closing properly, then unplug the door latch and see if warning light goes OFF or not.

Even after unplugging the latches doesn't turn the warning off then either the problem is internal in the instrument cluster or both of these ajar circuits are shorted to grounds somewhere in the wiring harness. The wires may be pinched or rubbed through on a grounded component, or it could even be from moisture in an electrical connector. There are many possibilities, check for all basics mentioned.

What you'll need to do next is check for a short to ground on both of these ajar circuits. If you find the ajar circuits are shorted to ground then unplug the cluster and see if the short goes away. If it does then the short is in the cluster and it will need to be replaced.

BUT, if the short is still there with the cluster unplugged then the problem is somewhere in the harness between the cluster and each of the doors. You will have to follow wire by wire to trace the faulty wire.
You can also use test light to check continuity to the wires. On shorted wire you will not get continuity.

This will help.
Thanks.

Chrysler Lebaron Convertible: Solution For Dash lights Not Working

Illuminating Dash lights Not working

Here;s the details about the car and the problem:
1994 Chrysler Lebaron Convertible And Engine: v6 Mitsubishi

The gauge cluster speedometer in middle, rev/ tacometer on left., and temp/oil pressure/charging meter on left.
Everything works except the illuminating lights on the dash.

As  per current details the gauges work all the llights like check engine light turn on. When I use the switch to increase brightness on the illumine lights the map lights turn on but not the dash lights.

The little center gauge light for miles per gallon is on.
Also I see radio light on. All the indicator high beam low beam dims bright work. I checked all the fuses.. Only the illumination light on dash dont work.

Also tried checking  inspecting with other known good working cluster board, but problem is exactly the same.
Please Help !!!!!!!!!!

The Troubleshooting Details Are As Follows:----

The issue seems to be very clear. As what you said earlier if the cluster was replaced with a known good one and fuses are ok then its either  headlamp switch problem or a broken wire between the switch and the cluster.
At these stage i suggest  checking for power leaving the switch, if there is none but the fuses are ok then the problem is internal in the switch and it will need to be replaced. If there is power leaving the switch but not making it to the cluster then you know the wire is broken somewhere in the harness.

As per your vehicles model and year mentioned, it says:---

The Schematics diagram is showing the illumination powered by the body control module and all circuits leave the BCM as one wire. If the radio and a/c control head light both are working ok then its clear that the circuit is being powered.

And about the wires to be checked, you will have to  pull the instrument cluster back out and find the solid orange wire in the black connector, check this one for battery voltage with the lamps turned on.

Also without forget check for ground on the black/orange.

Clients Reply:

Problem Solved:
I Checked ground and its good. There is lots of power. Went back check fuse 8= illumine lights. 5 amp fuse , bad. Replaced 5 amp fuse. And is back to normal.
So it was just a fuse problem.

Thanks.
