2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser: Battery and Oil Warning Light Comes ON?

Warning Light comes up on Dash and goes Off.And Again comes ON while driving and Goes OFF.

When both of these warning lights come on, this is very commonly a problem in the Charging System. There are few basic possibilities that are to be checked.

• This can be a loose connection at the battery, a battery that is not accepting a charge, or a faulty Alternator. 

To confirm the problem .........

• First check the connections at the battery and make sure they are tight, and do not have excessive build-up on them (The help  image is shown  below). 
• If the connection are tight, and look good, the battery and Alternator will need to be tested. 
• If you have access to a volt meter, you can quickly test these yourself. 

The testing procedure is as follows:-----------

• With the engine running, take a voltage reading at the battery terminals (see the help image shown  below). 

NOW,in the test .........

• If the voltage reading is not between 13.2-14.4v, the Alternator is the problem, and will need to be replaced. 
• If the Alternator passes this test, shut the engine off, and wait 15 minutes. With the engine off, take another reading at the battery terminals. If the voltage this time is anything less than 12v, the Battery is the culprit and will need to be replaced. 

IN case

• If you do not have access to a volt meter, most "big chain" parts stores, like AutoZone will run these test for you, for Free, right in their parking lot.

How to reset Maintenance light on Honda Accord.

Maintenance light and Check Engine light are Not same.Both are different warning lights.

Below is the procedure to reset the maintenance light. Be aware, this is for the maintenance, and not the Check Engine light.

-With the ignition switch OFF, press and hold the select/reset button(s).

2005 Lexus RX330:Engine Warning Light and VSC Lights is ON?

First of all See if the Performance of the Vehicle is fine or not.
What problem you are noticing while starting and while diving the vehicle.

I am Asking this question because,there are many other Lexus Vehicle users Facing this same Issue.

This 2 warning lights the Check engine light and VSC light comes up but the vehicle is driving fine.


NOW if the vehicle runs fine. Then 90% of  time when the check engine light illuminates it is related to in emissions error or malfunction. By default the vehicle skid control(VSC)  light is illuminated to stop that system from working until the problem that set the code in the engine control computer is repaired.
The Codes mostly for Emission system related are P0446 ,P0441 ,P0455.
These codes are in fact emissions related failures. The primary code here is the P0455 code. This means there is a gross leak in the evaporative control system. The most common denominator is usually related to the gas cap being loose. Check the gas cap seal and make sure it's not hard and is still soft so that when you tighten the cap ,You can feel the seal squash just before it clicks and becomes tight. Make sure there is no rust and corrosion where the seal contacts the filler neck. If you want to clear the code you need to remove the negative battery cable to erase the memory in the computer. If the idle seems a bit low you will need to clean the throttle body on this drive by wire system for the idle to re-correct itself. The code will eventually clear itself if the gas cap was in fact where the leak was that. The other two codes are normally set by default whenever there is a gross leak.

If you recently filled the GAS Tank and the GAS CAP is checked ok.
Then the System will automatically get reset.


It takes few drive cycles or trips to reset. But this is dependent on the ambient air temperature and the engine coolant temperature. There has to be differential split any cannot be too cold. There's no set pattern it all depends on the temperature criteria and differentials for it to run the test. I would inspect the filler neck and the seal on the gas cap make sure that as you tighten it down you can feel some squash or resistance before it clicks. If that checks okay and you can clear the code if it continues to come back and you are certain it is not the gas cap you need to do a pressure test on the system see where is leaking from.

Theft indicator not letting car to start?

Security system causes such problems many a times.Some times normal reset helps,but in some cases the system has to reset by dealer.

First try this procedure:----
Let the car sit off for 10 - 15 minutes, then try to start it. Check the owners manual if you have it. Sometimes, on various cars letting them sit awhile will allow the system to reset itself. On others sometimes rapidly turning the key from off to on, without turning to start 3 to 8 times within 10 seconds and then on the last turn to the on position leave it there until the horn chirps, at that point turn the key directly to start, or turn off first and turn to start. If all this fails, a GM dealer can reset the system.

One more procedure you can try:---

Insert  key in ignition and turn all the way as to start the car, but without actually starting it(security light will be flashing). Leave it on for ten minutes until the security light becomes solid, now turn off and start the car.

And see if it starts or not.If not,then the problem is the ignition lock cylinders are worn out and makes the car think that it's being stolen. The dealer needs to replace the ignition switch and re-key the cylinder. It's expensive too. Basic cost $750 to repair.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.
