TRUCK SURGES WHILE RUNNING

2003 Dodge Ram Truck 4x4 surges while driving.And check engine light came ON.

Got the truck engine module scanned.

RECEIVED MULTIPLE OBD ERROR CODES

List of received error codes:---
P0633, P0837, P0839, P2121, P2122.

Its 5.9 Cummins Engine with Standard Transmission.

NOW FROM WHERE TO START THE TROUBLESHOOTING?

Its a multiple error code issue.There are few different parts in your vehicle that needs to be inspected.
First you need to know what this codes are telling and i want to know If you have replaced the ECM(engine control module) on your vehicle or not.

OK, ECM IS NOT REPLACED?

Why i asked about ECM got replaced because of error code P0633.

The error code P0633 sets when the SKIM information hasn't been properly transferred to the ECM after replacement. If ECM replaced then this code set because ECM is not programmed and just replaced. This code tells you to get the New ECM programmed.

But as you mentioned above that ECM is not replaced in your vehicle then the code is set erroneously or because of an aftermarket programmer being used. This code isn't related to the problem you are having.
Its nothing to worry,but other codes are.

OK,WHAT EXACTLY THESE ALL ERROR CODES MEAN?

The other codes which you noticed are real problems.
The Error code P0837 and P0839 are both for the transfer case position sensor. These could be wiring or the sensor itself.Mostly its the sensor problem.
But this both error codes are not related to your driveability problem.Yes its related to transfer case position sensor but not related to vehicle surges while driving.

And Error codes .
P2121 and 2122 are both for the accelerator pedal position sensor (APPS).
And this error codes are definitely related to drive ability issues which are noticing.

OK,WHERE IS APPS LOCATED?

The APPS (Accelerator pedal position sensor) is mounted to the bracket under the black plastic cover at the left front corner of the cylinder head.Its exactly where the throttle cables enter. On the back of the bracket is the APPS. These sensor tells the ECM how far the throttle is open.But if the signal from this sensor is incorrect then ECM will not control the throttle and you notice such problems.
Vehicle surges, hesitates,stalling,jerks,stumbling etc.

SO SHOULD I REPLACE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR

Before replacing this sensor i suggest to inspect the wiring.
Error codes P2121 and 2122 can be caused by a wiring problem between the sensor and ECM, or the sensor itself, or problem with the ECM.
Wiring or the ECM are possible but not common at all, although failures of the APPS is majorly noticed. What I would recommend is a visual inspection of the wiring and connection, try cleaning the Sensors plug terminals then re-insert and see if its helping.But if wiring checked ok and cleaning the Accelerator pedal position sensor connectors is not helping then replace the APPS.That will solve the problem.

OBD codes P1521 and P0750

Poor Acceleration problem on 2006 Dodge Ram and check engine light came on.Also shifting issues noticed.
Scan test shows error code P1521 and P0750.

Is Poor Acceleration related to this error codes?
What exactly Obd error code P1521 and P0750 indicates?

Yes this error codes are related to your problem.

The error code P1521 is for incorrect engine oil type. May be you have recently got the oil replaced and refilled it with wrong oil type.Or the previously replaced oil is not got very thick and dirty.If its the case then inspect the oil condition and type and replace it with proper suggested oil as per owners manual.
The engine computer controller monitors oil pressure versus temperature to determine if the correct oil is being used, this code sets when the incorrect viscosity is detected. You may have the wrong oil in it, a thick oil additive will set the code also. As per dealer and owners manual dodge ram truck requires 5w20 and no additives or this code will set.

Now the other code which you got is P0750.
This obd error code is for the low/reverse solenoid in the solenoid pack inside the trans.The low reverse solenoid needs to be inspected. This code sets when the voltage on the circuit is incorrect for a given state. With this code set the trans is going to be in limp-in, either third gear only or third and fourth.

And due to this both error codes.
One the oil quality related and other the transmission shifting related,you will notice poor acceleration.

WHAT POSSIBILITIES TO BE CHECKED FOR P0750 ERROR CODE?

The solenoid has to be inspected.The solenoid shorts due to various reasons.It could be an open circuit, short to power or ground on the low/reverse solenoid driver wire anywhere between the powertrain control module and the trans.
On some cases it was noticed hat PCM ( power train control module) was faulty.So it could also be the powertrain control module itself. A wiring problem or the module are certainly possible but not common.
Or it can be connection issue at the large connector on the left side of the trans, but again that's not common.

OK,OUT OF THIS 3 POSSIBILITIES WHAT IS MOST COMMON?

The most common cause of a solenoid code is a failed solenoid, requiring solenoid pack replacement. The solenoid pack is mounted to the top of the valve body in the trans. Most likely your solenoid pack will need to be replaced to repair this concern.

So in your case first inspect oil quality and next inspect low/reverse solenoid located in transmission on top of the valve body.

Error code p0402 on Ford Escape?

P0402 means Exhaust Gas recirculation flow excessive detected.
P0402 can be caused by a bad DPFE sensor, EGR regulator solenoid, EGR valve or plugged intake manifold EGR port. The most common failures are the DPFE sensor and plugged ports. To unplug the intake port, remove the EGR valve and use stiff mechanics wire and carb cleaner to clear the port.

DPFE is Differential Pressure Feedback EGR sensor. It should be on the right rear of the engine. You will know it by the 2 rubber hoses leading into it from the exhaust manifold. It will have an electrical connector and should be about 1 1/2inch by 2inch rectangle black sensor.

It should look similar to this. Hose nipples may be located differently.
