Kia Doors will not open

KIA sedona doors will not open from inside.

On such case first inspect the interior door panel.
Remove the door panel and inside door lock/ unlock assembly has to be checked.

Why i am directly telling to inspect inside door panel assembly,because at our auto garage we have seen lots of such cases and problem is mostly traced inside the door panel.

First take the panel off and then take the door latch out and remove the part that controls locking and unlocking the door electronically.

To remove the door panel OFF,there are few help diagrams.

To remove quadrant inner cover:----




Loosen the mounting screw, remove the inside handle cover.

View the location of screws marked on door panel from inside:-----


Loosen the door trim (C) mounting screws. Release the clips that hold the door trim, then remove the door trim by pulling it upward. Disconnect the power window switch connector (A), power mirror connector (B), and door courtesy lamp connector (D).



On many cases the problem is plastic lug.The plastic lug on the back of the handle gets cracks down or breaks, when 1st starting to break the door opens ok, but after full breakage it won't.

To confirm these problem,only one option ,it can be seen only by removing the handle fully from the door, then fix or replace and it's fine again.

Also issues are noticed on KIA Sliding doors.
The door will just make click noise but will not get open.

These is due to the door latch cable getting worn out loose or broken.

To correct this situation, KIA is replacing the sliding door exterior handle release cables with an improved version.

Hummer H2 Door Panel Removal?

Procedure to remove interior door panel 2004 Hummer H2 model.

The front and rear door panel removal details with diagrams are as follows:---
You require a special too to complete this task of door panel dis-assembly.

The special tool referred is a door panel clip tool remover. You can pick up one of these at the local auto parts store. When you use the tool slide it underneath the door panel a give it a quick snap to release the door panel clips.

Now the detailed procedure is as follows :----

They are the same on front and the rear as far as the procedure goes.

Front Side Door Trim Panel 

Removal Procedure

• Remove the door handle bezel. 
• Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement diagram shown above.
• Remove the door panel retaining screw located in the handle bezel opening.
• Remove the door window switch. 

Use special tool J 38778 to release the door trim panel retaining clips.
Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connectors.
Remove the door trim panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Connect the electrical wiring harness connectors.
Install the door trim panel to the vehicle.
2.1. Align the door trim panel retaining clips with the openings in the door.
2.2. Push inward on the door trim panel to engage the fasteners.
Install the door window switch
Install the door panel retaining screw within the handle bezel opening.

Install the door handle bezel. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement

Front Side Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement

Removal Procedure

Remove the screw that retains the front inside handle bezel to the door panel.

Remove the bezel from around the door handle,

Remove the bezel from the vehicle

Installation Procedure

Install the bezel to the vehicle.

Install the bezel around the door handle.

Install the screw that retains the handle bezel to the door panel.

Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement - Driver Side

Removal Procedure

Use a suitable flat bladed tool to remove the driver door lock and side window switch from the door trim panel.

Remove the driver door lock and side window switch from the connector.

Installation Procedure:

Install the driver door lock and side window switch to the connector.

Align the driver door lock and side window switch with the opening in the door panel and press to seat the switch.

Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the upper door trim panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .
2. Remove the rear door handle bezel. Refer to Rear Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement
3. Remove the door panel retaining screw located in the handle bezel opening.
4. Use J 38778 to release the retaining clips from the door trim panel.
5. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connectors.
6. Remove the door trim panel from the vehicle.
7. Inspect for missing or broken retaining fasteners. Replace the fasteners as necessary

Installation Procedure

1. Connect the electrical wiring harness connectors.
2. Install the door trim panel to the vehicle.
3. 2.1. Align the door trim panel retaining clips with the openings in the door. 
4. 2.2. Push inward on the door trim panel to engage the fasteners. 
5. Install the door panel retaining screw.
6. Install the rear door handle bezel. Refer to Rear Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
7. Install the upper door trim panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .

Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Firmly grasp and gently pull to disengage the retaining clips.
2. Inspect for broke or missing retaining clips and replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure

1. Align the retaining clips with the openings in the body.
2. Press to fully seat the retaining clips.

Rear Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the screw that retains the rear inside handle bezel to the door panel.
2. Remove the bezel from around the door handle.
3. Remove the bezel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the bezel to the vehicle.
2. Install the bezel around the door handle.
3. Install the screw that retains the handle bezel to the door panel.

This is complete procedure to remove Door panel.

Dodge Caravan Liftgate Removal And Door Lock Disassembly

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

See Figures 1 and 2

1. Remove the liftgate interior trim panel.
2. Remove the power lock motor.
3. Disengage the outside handle link from the clip on the liftgate latch.
4. Disconnect the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) switch from the wiring harness, if equipped.
5. If equipped, disconnect the VTSS switch from the back of the lock cylinder.
6. Disengage lock link, if equipped.
7. Remove the nut attaching the outside liftgate handle to the liftgate.
8. Disengage the retaining groove holding the handle to the liftgate.
