Set TDC To Cylinder number 1 on Acura?

Please Note This details and procedure are For Acura 1986 to 1993 car models.
Its For Acura Integra,Legend and Vigor car models.

TDC/Crank Angle/Cylinder Sensors
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION: ----

Set the engine to TDC No. 1 cylinder. On 1986-1990 vehicles, remove the cruise control actuator. Disconnect the CRANK/CYL sensor connector.

Remove the upper timing belt cover from the front bank of cylinders on 1986-1990 vehicles. On later models, remove both upper belt covers.

Remove the timing belt from the upper pulley(s).

Remove the 3 bolts holding the front or left pulley and remove it.

Remove the front upper cover back plate.

Unbolt and remove the sensor.

To install:

7. Carefully install the sensor on the head and tighten the bolts to 9 ft. lbs (12 Nm).
8. Install the upper cover back plate and gaskets.
9. Align the cam pulley pin with the camshaft hole to install the cam pulley. Tighten the bolts to 23 ft. lbs (32 Nm).
10. Install the timing belt.
11. Install the upper timing belt cover.
12. Install the cruise control actuator if it was removed.

Integra

The sensors are contained within the distributor housing and are not individually serviceable. Should any of the sensors become faulty, the distributor housing must be replaced. All of the components external to the housing, such as the cap, rotor, coil and igniter may be transferred to the new unit.

Vigor

See Figure 2

1. Set the engine to TDC No. 1 cylinder. Disconnect the TDC/CRANK/CYL sensor connector.
2. Remove the upper timing belt cover from the belt.
3. Remove the timing belt from the upper pulley.
4. Remove the bolt holding the pulley and remove it.
5. Remove the timing belt back plate.
6. Unbolt and remove the sensor(s). The TDC/CRANK sensor is held by two bolts; the CYL sensor is held by a nut and a bolt

To install:

7. Carefully install the sensors on the head and tighten the bolts and nut to 9 ft. lbs (12 Nm).
8. Install the back plate.
9. Align the cam pulley key with the camshaft slot to install the cam pulley. Tighten the pulley bolt to 54 ft. lbs (75 Nm).
10. Install the timing belt.
11. Install the upper timing belt cover.

Removing old timing belt  and setting new timing belt

1.9L VW Diesel Engine

Tools required:

A flat bar, VW tool 2065A is used to secure the camshaft in position. 

A pin, VW tool 2064 is used to fix the pump position while the timing belt is removed. 

IMP NOTE: The camshaft and pump work against spring pressure and will move out of position when the timing belt is removed. It is not difficult to find substitutes but do not remove the timing belt without these tools.

WARNING

Do not turn the engine or camshaft with the timing belt removed. The pistons will contact the valves and cause internal engine damage.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the accessory drive belts, crankshaft pulley and the timing belt cover(s). 
2. Remove the camshaft cover and rubber plug at the back end of the camshaft.
3. Temporarily reinstall the crankshaft pulley bolt and turn the crankshaft to Top Dead Center (TDC) of No. 1 piston. The mark on the camshaft sprocket should be aligned with the mark on the inner timing belt cover or the edge of the cylinder head.Make sure you dont clean or rub off the alignment marks.
4. With the engine at TDC, insert the bar into the slot at the back of the camshaft. The bar rests on the cylinder head to will hold the camshaft in position.
5. Insert the pin into the injection pump drive sprocket to hold the pump in position.
6. Loosen the locknut on the tensioner pulley and turn the tensioner counterclockwise to relieve the tension on the timing belt. Slide the timing belt from the sprockets.

Installing New Timing belt For VW 1.9L Engine:

1. Install the new timing belt and adjust the tension so the belt can be twisted 45 degrees at the halfway point between the camshaft and pump sprockets. Tighten the tensioner nut to 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm).
2. Remove the holding tools.
3. Turn the engine 2 full revolutions to return to TDC for the No. 1 cylinder. Recheck belt tension and timing mark alignment, readjust as required.
4. Install the belt cover and accessory drive belts.
