diagram of the actual horn parts contact ring and switch for Chevy Silverado regular cab

My horn will not work, but when I set the alarm or hold the panic button down everything is fine. The horn relay is good as well as fuses, and I even followed the advice in the posting above and soldered a ground wire to the chassis and the steering column. Still no luck. I think I'm going to need instructions on how to get to the horn switch itself.

number 12 is labeled as a canceling cam. this is the horn contact. the actual horn button is inside of the air bag.
