The two of the wires leading to the air flow meter connector had burnt through the sheaf to bare wire (wires Black/White, Grey/Red and Brown/White).
wires to the AFM carries almost certainly current less than 1 amp.
156's dont have air intake temp sensors but relys on the MAF sensor, which has 4 wires.
one pin in 12v, one is gnd, one is the Air Flow signal & the other is a temp signal.
4-wire AFM terminals:
1. air temp signal
2. air flow signal
3. +5V reference
4. ground
