  • The procedure to change oil on Chrysler 300C

Drive the front wheels of your Chrysler 300C onto the ramps. Shift the transmission into park and set the parking brake. Chock the front and back of the right-rear wheel to prevent the Chrysler from rolling off the ramps inadvertently.Open the hood and pull the engine oil dipstick up several inches. Remove the oil fill cap.Crawl underneath with the drain pan, box wrench set, oil filter wrench and new oil filter. Slide the drain pan directly under the oil pan drain plug.Remove the oil pan drain plug with a box wrench. Allow the oil to drain out, then reinstall the plug. Do not over-tighten the drain plug; once the head of the plug touches the drain pan, turn it no more than an additional quarter turn.Slide the drain pan under the oil filter. Remove the oil filter with the oil filter wrench. Make sure you remove the oil filter gasket from the filter housing adapter.Apply a thin layer of fresh oil to the gasket on the new oil filter, then thread it on by hand and tighten it as best you can by hand. Do not over-tighten the oil filter by using the filter wrench.Crawl out from under the 300C with your tools, the drain pan and the old oil filter. Stick the funnel in the oil filler neck and pour in the recommended amount of oil according to your 300C's specific maintenance manual.Insert the dipstick. Start the engine and let it run for 15 seconds before shutting it off.Pull the dipstick out, wipe it off with a rag, reinsert it, pull it back out and check the level. The oil should come up to the cross-hatched section of the dipstick. If you need to add oil, add ½ quart at a time and repeat steps 8 and 9 until the oil is in the crosshatch.Pull the funnel out and put the oil cap on. Remove the wheel chocks and drive the Chrysler off the ramps.
