Removal & Installation
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Remove the front wheels.
- Remove the 2 caliper bolts and lift the caliper from the disc.
- Slide the disc pads off the caliper mounting bracket.
- Remove the two bolts securing the mounting bracket to the steering knuckle and remove the bracket.
- Remove the two screws securing the rotor to the hub.
- Remove the rotor from the hub.
To install:
- Position the rotor on the hub and secure with the two retaining screws.
- Using a dial indicator gauge, measure the rotor runout on the out surface of the rotor. Runout should not exceed 0.004 when measured at 4.7 inch from the center of the rotor.
- Clean the caliper bracket contact surface with a wire brush and lightly coat with assembly lube.
- Install the anti-rattle clip into the caliper mounting bracket.
- Position the bracket on the hub with the mounting bolts and tighten the bolts to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).
- Position the disc pads.
- Position the caliper over the disc assembly. Install the caliper bolts. Tighten to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).
- Install the front wheels. Tighten the lug nuts 77 ft. lbs. (104 Nm).
- Lower the vehicle.
