Head Lights Turned OFF but parking lights stay ON?

This problem is noticed on Jeep grand Cherokee.



In this types of problems the battery gets drained after few hours.

The exterior lighting is controlled by the BCM, with the explanation you posted above, I suspect you have a failed BCM, the BCM is not turning off the Parking lamps when you turn off the switch. The switch is a "multiplexed" switch which is another possibility, but unfortunately the only way to tell what is wrong is to scan with the DRB III scanner, it can access the BCM and verify signals coming from the headlamp switch and can help determine if the problem is the switch, wiring or the BCM itself. If you know anyone that has acess to a DRB III, that would be great, otherwise, a dealership visit is recommended... Either way if the BCM needs replaced, the dealership is the only place that can configure it properly.
