Where is Thermostat Located on Saturn

2002 SATURN S1 THERMOSTAT REPLACING PROCEDURE

Thermostat location and removal procedure for Saturn vehicle

For location of thermostat ,look at the bottom lower left side by your radiator. You'll see a
small hose going from the radiator to the lower block.
On your car model the thermostat is housed in a metal housing held on by two 10mm bolts.

When thermostat is installed dont forget to close valve under radiator
and then refill antifreeze reservoir with 50/50 mix of antifreeze.
Please fill correct antifreeze, which is exactly suitable for your vehicle.Your reservoir cap color will tell you what type to put in.

Cost for new thermostat is approx $40, at Napa.Always buy branded parts as compared to aftermarket auto parts.

Before removal of thermostat its necessary to drain/empty the coolant fluid.
Drain coolant from the radiator  and engine drain plug .
The drain plug is located at the right front of engine. After that disconnect lower radiator hose at thermostat housing.

See below the Thermostat location image for saturn S1 model
